Consultations

Your chiropractor will first perform a case history followed by a thorough physical examination. Once a diagnosis has been made a personalized treatment protocol based on your condition and personal needs will be designed.

If your condition cannot be treated by a chiropractor, or if you need special investigations like x-rays, your chiropractor will refer you to the necessary specialist.

The types of treatment incorporated into chiropractic care include

• Chiropractic adjustments
• Joint mobilisation
• Dry needling therapy
• Massage therapy
• Interferential Current (IFC)
• Kinesiotaping
• Ice and heat therapy

The initial consultation takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Follow up consultations typically take 30 minutes.

When necessary Dr de Klerk will advise you on stretching/strengthening exercises that can be done, and give ergonomic advice that may help to improve your condition.
